Documenting Uplift for the Claim
Wind damage documentation works differently than hail documentation because the evidence is often about displacement and attachment failure rather than surface impact. We photograph the affected areas, note wind direction where it is discernible from the damage pattern, and describe the fastening or attachment method in place versus what the membrane manufacturer specifies for the building's wind exposure. That comparison, expected performance against observed failure, is central to a defensible wind claim.
If a section of roof has lost enough attachment that the membrane can no longer be considered sound across a meaningful area, we document why a broader repair or reattachment is warranted rather than a limited patch.
